Rumi’s Mountain Sunset is a premium international property between Bhimtal and Naukuchiatal lakes on the edge of the municipality in Vijraula (or Bijroli). Vijraula is green and feels like a typical mountain village. We are one of the best properties in the Bhimtal-Nainital area. Our property looks and feels like a 1950's British cottage. The Property Manager is The Old Monk of Nainital. The property comes with a Caretaker couple who manage the cooking and cleaning. The main caretaker has over 15 years of experience in this line and his wife makes delicious food. Food is charged on actuals. If the full property is booked you may bring along your own cook.
We have nice views of the Naukuchiatal lake, the valley and paragliding. It’s a place to unwind from daily stresses, enjoy the views and the food. It is a fantastic base for treks in some of the amazingly green and scenic parts of the Nainital district. The area is far greener than Mussoorie with more places nearby worth visiting including historical ones. We are only 1.4km away from the iconic Hanuman Mandir, 3.7km from the miraculous Kachula Devi mandir, and 26km from Chota Kailash where Shivji spent some time. For those looking for adventure, the Skybird paragliding point is just 1.5km away and the Naukuchiatal lake 2.5km away with all its activities. Avoid the endless traffic to Nainital with hordes of tourists and slip away to our property tucked away in a peaceful area.
If all you want to do is relax, wine & dine, you could not have found a better property. Your endless walks on our Red Ruby and Moroccan decks (both well lit up at night), our Jungle Path walk, with their mountain, valley and jungle views, will totally satisfy your senses. Bamiyan means “Land of Shining Light”. True to its name, experience supreme peace in the Bamiyan Buddha Garden gazing at our 4 Bamiyan Buddhas in gufas (caves), our Peepal Tree with 4 Buddhas (we call this spot Bodh Gaya), our Golden Buddha in the waterfall area, or our huge 8ft Blue Buddha outdoor wall mural. 30 rounds daily of the incline down our private (concrete) road (Avenue of Flags) from our main blue gate to our Red Ruby deck will make you fit as a fiddle.

OUR ROOMS
This property is limited to two units to keep it exclusive:
1. Country Manor (2BHK) - 800sft - this has two rooms with two attached toilets, textured walls, high wooden ceilings, 2 dining tables, 1 study table, room sit-outs, and a long covered private balcony. One TV, 2 Aircons (generator backup on a charge). Sleeps 4 adults and 1 child (+1 on the King bed).
2. Pinewood Chalet (Suite) - 320sft. Our honeymoon suite. This is an all-wood room with attached toilet, 1 study table, room sit-out, a private covered balcony, and a covered outdoor living room – rainwater/insect protected with a dining table and lovely nature sounds at night. Aircon (generator backup on a charge). Sleeps 2 adults.
The full property can also be booked; if so, your personal cook can accompany.

Skylight Garden
Our living room feels like a green garden. Well ventilated, air-cooled with natural light. Eat, play or work.
Moroccan Deck
Upper covered deck. Lake, valley & paragliding views. Turkish tea or coffee, hookah & (day) meals. Endless walks.
Blue Bamboo Deck
Have a cup of tea, eat, or drink on our open wood deck, under a bamboo trellis next to our Black Buddha.
Bamiyan Buddha Garden
Based on the UNESCO site, we made 4 gufas (caves) and installed 4 Buddhas for joy.
Daily Housekeeping
Your room and toilet will be cleaned daily and neatened up.
Red Ruby Bonfire Decks
Bonfire with charcoal-grilled kebabs on our two red sandstone open decks. Music, hookah & party. Endless walks.
Jungle Path Walk
We have cut out a 4ft red sandstone path through the jungle below for endless walks.
Free Wi-Fi
We have Fibre Broadband. Our plan promises 100mbps. Works best in the Skylight Garden.
Starlight Swing Deck
Relax on two swings on this covered Buddha Garden deck. Gaze at our Golden Buddha. Mountain views.
Monsoon Holidays
You can move around easily to sit outdoors on the upper or lower covered decks to enjoy the rains.
